Logistics, especially the movement of goods by sea, links both business and industry which is becoming increasingly complex. This future-oriented MBA programme with a specialization in shipping and logistics is located in Hamburg. The City with the gateway to the world and the third-largest port in Europe and thus one of the most important transshipment ports for global trade via sea route. During your studies, you will be prepared for becoming an international expert for supply chain management, logistics and global trades. The core modules of our MBA study programme are taught in a seminar-style on campus in Hamburg, while the two specialised modules will be held online.

The specialisation modules in our “MBA Shipping & Logistics” focuses on two core topics: “Operations and Procedures in Shipping and Logistics” as well as “Fundamentals and Internationalization of Shipping and Logistics”.

The MBA with a specialization in “Shipping and Logistics” provides students with an optimal transfer of knowledge – the associated special module is always offered parallel to each basic business module so that you can apply your theoretical knowledge around the maritime procedures straight away to hands-on projects.

In the “Operations and Procedures in Shipping and Logistics” module, students explore the intricacies of logistics and supply chain management, emphasizing the crucial role of ports and shipping in these processes. They will gain a comprehensive understanding of maritime logistics chains, including their main drivers and components. The module also delves into the strategic positioning of container terminal operators in the marketplace, equipping students with the skills to analyze roles, challenges, and opportunities in this sector.
